Located in an alley on Tonghua Street, Haiyu House has no obvious sign. If you don't look carefully during your first visit, you might accidentally miss it. Once you enter the restaurant, the simple decoration makes you feel as if you are visiting a friend's home. Additionally, what catches the eye is a large refrigerator filled with various kinds of fresh fish, allowing you to choose your favorite type of fish dish. The friendly owner, Hui-zhu Hsueh, said, "The refrigerator contains a wide variety of seafood from Hokkaido, Canada, Alaska, etc. Some of these are rare in the market, such as cod crab, black rock lobster, bluefin tuna belly, and sea urchin." Because of the fresh ingredients, some people even come from Taoyuan specifically to buy the tender cod fish. The key is the strict use of -50℃ freezing, which is also the main reason why the sashimi at Haiyu House is so delicious. Many customers, after purchasing, would ask the owner how to cook the fish. She is always open and enthusiastic, teaching customers how to prepare delicious fish dishes. Over time, she became good friends with her customers. These friends then started to invite their own friends, and the business naturally became more prosperous.
