Former Japanese Prince’s ruins, now a significant religious site in Chitung, the Tianyao Palace hosts the main shrine for Matsu, commonly known as Chitung Alley Matsu. It serves as the spiritual center of downtown Chitung City. During the Japanese colonial period, the temple was demolished by the Japanese, and a monument titled “North White River Palace Imperial Site Monument” was erected at the original site to commemorate Prince Norihisa, the Army General who established a camp in Chitung Alley in 1895.
