Every April and May, the Bagua Hills of Changhua are blanketed in pure white as tens of thousands of tung blossoms burst into bloom, always delighting travelers. Along the Changhua Eastern Ring Road and beside Provincial Highway 139, just a glance at the hills and valleys reveals the rare spectacle of tung blossom seas stretching as far as the eye can see, irresistibly drawing passers-by to pause and look again. On the hiking trails beside Highway 139, two dense rows of tung trees release snow-white petals that drift down like a carpet of snow, creating a scene as enchanting as a winter landscape. Visitors jostle for photos of this floral wonder, and for a while the valley rings with the sound of people. The area around Highway 139 on Bagua Hill is lined with attractions and equipped with excellent tourist facilities. Besides enjoying the tung blossoms, you can also hike, cycle, pick fresh fruit at farms, sample fresh milk at ranches, and savor great food at restaurants—making this the most popular golden route for tung blossom viewing. When the tung blossoms are in full bloom, grab your camera and happy travel mood, and head up the hills to enjoy the romantic Changhua Tung Blossom Season.
