台南市七股區鹽埕里66號
The Qigu Salt Field was once the largest salt field in Taiwan, primarily supplying salt for domestic agricultural and industrial use. However, with the passage of time, the economic benefits of salt production decreased, and the Qigu Salt Field ceased operations in May 2002, marking the end of a 338-year history of salt production. The Qigu Salt Mountain, originally a salt storage area for the Qigu Salt Field, has naturally formed hard salt blocks over the years. The approximately six-story-tall salt peak stands proudly, creating a breathtaking sight. The Taiwan Salt Corporation then shifted its focus to industrial tourism, and the recreational era of Qigu Salt Mountain officially began. The site now serves as a testament to Taiwan's salt industry development in a unique way. The Qigu Salt Mountain park offers not only stunning salt mountain scenery but also a wide range of recreational facilities and activities. These include a comfortable sightseeing train, a barbecue area for group rentals, an experience with the traditional salt field facility "Dragon Bone Waterwheel," a DIY salt jar-making activity that visitors must participate in when visiting the salt mountain, and a fun and delicious salt-coagulated tofu DIY experience. The park is an educational and entertaining destination that visitors must explore. Opening Hours: Summer (March to October): 09:00-18:00 Winter (November to February): 08:30-17:30 Closed on: New Year's Eve and on days designated as typhoon holidays by the government.
