The Dyeing Visitor Service Center was completed in early September 2010 by the Urban and Rural Development Bureau of the New Taipei City Government. To reflect the imagery of Dyeing Park, dyeing elements were integrated with visitor-service functions, establishing the “Dyeing Visitor Service Center.” It is now operated by the Vital Sanxia Volunteer Team, whose members founded the Vital Sanxia Experimental Dye Workshop and devote themselves to promoting dyeing culture. The main displays cover the history of Sanxia’s dyeing industry, illustrated explanations of cloth-dyeing procedures, demonstration and teaching areas, and an exhibit section for dyed works; the remaining space serves as a retail area for dyeing products and a venue for hands-on dyeing experiences, visitor information, local farm produce, promotional materials, and screenings of Sanxia-themed films. Through a community program to train personnel along the entire dyeing-industry chain, workshops on dyeing techniques, guided tours of Sanxia’s history and ecology, and events such as the Sanying Walking Festival are held to deepen visitors’ understanding of Sanxia culture, diversify services in the old street, and enhance the town’s tourist appeal.
