新北市烏來區烏來街45-1號
Wulai is a renowned mountain township in northern Taiwan, situated within a water-source protection area. Most of its residents are Atayal, and at the confluence of the Nanshi and Tonghou Rivers sheer peaks rise on both sides while the streams wind past, creating magnificent scenery. It is famous for its hot springs, push-car railway, waterfalls, and Yunxian Resort. Legend has it that the name “Wulai” comes from the Atayal phrase for “hot spring,” and the local alkaline carbonate springs are indeed celebrated for their crystal-clear water. The three-storey Visitor Center stands at the entrance to Wulai Old Street and the multi-storey car park, serving as travelers’ first stop in the Wulai Scenic Area. Brochures and staff inside provide comprehensive travel information, and tables and chairs on the second floor offer a place to rest.
