The Si Cao Green Tunnel refers to the mangrove forest area of the drainage channel behind the Si Cao Mass Temple. The river is lined with native mangroves over 50 years old, naturally forming a tunnel-like scene, known as the "miniature Amazon rainforest". It is also the only green waterway in Taiwan. The Si Cao Green Tunnel has two routes: the Mangrove Tunnel and the Si Cao Taiwan Journey. Before boarding the bamboo raft, each passenger needs to wear a life jacket and receive a sun hat and a hat to protect the head. Once ready, you can board the bamboo raft and start the green tunnel adventure! Along the tunnel, egrets, night herons, and other birds often fly low, and the Si Cao Mass Temple mangrove forest protection area has a beautiful forest, with four types of mangroves: Butaia lanceolata, Kandelia candel, Tremen Linn, and Aegiceras majus. The on-board commentator will also explain the local ecology along the way. Visitors can also observe crabs, mudskippers, and other creatures under the mangroves through a telescope. This is the best place for ecotourism and a favorite natural beauty for photographers to capture.
