Simple Chinese Japanese English Korean♦ Penghu Ocean Geological Park Center♦ Penghu Ocean Geological Park Center is a facility established by the Penghu County Government specifically for the geological park, located beside the Third Fishing Port and just one street away from Magong City Office. Inside the geological center you can find an introduction to the geological park, Penghu’s nature reserves, the Cat Island Bird Sanctuary, a map of the Qimei Stone Factory, a geological timeline of Penghu, geological parks around the world, Taiwan’s geological parks, a stone‑living theme, Penghu’s distinctive scenery, an introduction to basalt, and much more—very rich and detailed. A special feature is that the exterior of the geological center is primarily stone, blending traditional and Japanese styles, making it a very distinctive building. Inside there are many halls, with wooden staircases, a multi‑storey structure that lets you stand on higher platforms to enjoy the view. Many areas are also designed for children’s science education! Rock‑Blue Cave – VR Experience This experience gives everyone a glimpse of Penghu’s natural wonders. The Penghu County Government has built a mini Blue Cave VR theatre inside the Penghu Ocean Geological Park Center. The exterior walls mimic realistic basalt, and the floor is lit with gentle blue lights, making it feel like entering a mysterious blue cave. Players sit in motion seats, wear VR goggles, and fly through with 360° wide‑angle photography, experiencing the beauty of Penghu’s geological scenery and completing an adventure impossible in real life. The mini Blue Cave VR theatre currently offers two films for guests to experience: “Penghu 360° from Above” aerial footage, and “Penghu Underwater 360°” underwater footage. Visitors can choose the film they prefer based on their interests. Experience location: Penghu Ocean Geological Park Center (No. 71 Xinming Road, Magong City). The aerial view highlights the unique and breathtaking basalt topography of the archipelago. The film showcases many famous basalt sites such as: the Blue Cave (also known as the “Zao‑Lung”) on Xijiu Island of the Southern Four Islands, the Twin‑Heart Stone Basin and Xiao‑Taiwan on Qimei, the “Golden Stone Park” on Tung‑Pan Island, the Moses Sea between Kue‑Pi Mountain and Che‑Is, the beautiful Sandtail Beach on Jibei, the Whale Cave on Xia‑Men Island, and the coral reef ecosystem in the continental shelf “Mystery Forest”. The total runtime is about 3½ minutes, filled with spectacular scenery that makes viewers eager to visit in person. Seeing Penghu’s basalt terrain leaves a deeper impression of this basalt homeland and fosters greater appreciation and affection. 【Penghu Underwater 360°】 “Penghu Underwater 360°” is a special underwater film featuring director Yuan Xu‑hu, known for the domestic underwater movie “East Longitude North Latitude”. This film uses 360° photography and 4K underwater technology to capture the underwater wonders of the Penghu archipelago. It runs 2 minutes 30 seconds and showcases popular underwater sites such as the underwater mailbox, Lock Port, Coral Garden, West‑Jiu Castle, Lavender Forest, East‑Jiu Corridor, Sailfish School, and the East‑West Jiu Underwater Corridor. Besides revisiting the underwater scenes from the film “East Longitude North Latitude”, the film also allows viewers to enjoy a variety of vibrant underwater sights. Moreover, with Yuan Xu‑hu’s concern for marine ecology, the film hopes to not only display rich marine life and beautiful ocean scenery but also raise awareness and importance of marine environment protection. 【Suggested Stay Duration】 2 hours
