The 4.03-kilometer Miaoji Cable Car is Taipei's first cable car system. A one-way trip takes about 20 to 30 minutes, with four stations: "Zoo Station," "Zoo Inner Station," "Guanzhong Temple Station," and "Miaokong Station," where passengers can board or alight. Taking the Miaokong Cable Car is simple: just take the MRT Wenhua Line to its last station, "Zoo Station," and then walk to the cable car's Zoo Station to transfer to the Miaokong Cable Car.
The three most beautiful moments of taking the cable car are after the rain with misty clouds, during sunset with colorful evening skies, and under the bright night view. When you board the cable car, as it moves along with the mountain's undulations, you can see the moving MRT trains, the riverside parks along the Jingmei River, and the giraffe incinerator. When you reach the second turn, there is a big curve, at which point the view opens up, allowing you to look down on the traffic on the highway. After passing Guanzhong Temple Station, the cable car begins to enter a large V-shaped steep slope, which is the climax of the cable car journey. This experience will be unforgettable for life.
Miaokong Station is the terminal station of the cable car. Here, there are tea plantations and tea houses everywhere. Many people come here specifically to drink tea and chat. If you come to Miaokong, why not find a tea house, taste the famous "Muzha Tieguanyin" and "Wenshan Baozhong Tea," enjoy the delicious local tea meals, and appreciate the beautiful view of the Taipei Basin. Only then will your trip be truly worthwhile!
