Zhongliao Fishing Harbor is located in the northwest of Green Island, built in 1974 with only simple facilities such as a simple pier and breakwater, providing berthing space for fishing boats from the nearby village of Zhongliao. It was later affected by floating sand, making it difficult to maintain the channel depth and anchorage area. In 1992, funds were allocated to add an inner seawall and pier to facilitate mooring of boats. Although small and not a major transportation hub for Green Island, its proximity to the nearby Chihkou Conservation Area allows a rich diversity of intertidal zone organisms to be observed in its surrounding areas. Numerous intertidal species thrive in the tidal pools and gullies. On the harbor's side lies an extensive green algal reef, which is quite beautiful. The combination of this verdant algal reef and the beautifully landscaped green field from local government planning has earned Zhongliao Fishing Harbor the title of "Vibrant with Greenery" and its selection as one of the Top Ten Charming Fishing Ports in the third session. Visitors here can not only dive but also enjoy a boat diving tour for an underwater glimpse of stony corals, soft corals, various coral fish species, and invertebrates; the breathtaking, exciting experience speaks for itself! Stroll along the breakwater, feeling the gentle Pacific breeze blowing, gaze at the endless blue sea, bask in the sun’s warmth, immerse yourself in the picturesque beauty of the vast sky and ocean merging into one.
