Green Island is a volcanic island formed through volcanic activity. The eastern shore area is believed by scholars to have once contained an ancient explosion crater. Along with volcanic neck remains, the crater wall has formed a series of geological landscapes around it due to varying resistance against weathering. From the small Great Wall at the Sea cucumber Beach, looking afar at the coastline, there is a geological scene resembling a woman lying on her side asleep along the shore, named "Sleeping Beauty Rock." It is paired with the "Havanese Dog Rock" nearby to form the duo "Sleeping Beauty and the Havanese Dog." The legends of the Sleeping Beauty and the Havanese Dog vary. One popular tale tells how a loyal Havanese dog guards the Sleeping Beauty cursed by a witch. Another version claims they were once devoted lovers who violated divine rules and were cruelly turned into stone to stand duty on Green Island. A third version states they quarreled and have slept separately ever since, refusing to speak to each other. A more intriguing legend tells of a Flying Fish Fairy. While wandering by the sea, the Flying Fish Fairy found a stray Havanese Dog and transformed into a human to live with it. One day, while playing by the sea, the Flying Fish Fairy turned back into her original form due to accidental exposure from waves. The Havanese Dog then bit her. When the Jade Emperor heard about it, the Fairy was transformed into the present-day Sleeping Beauty for breaking heavenly law, and the Havanese Dog, having mistakenly bitten her, was transformed into a Havanese to guard her eternally. From then on, dogs hated eating fish.
