The Shifang Joy Music Theater is suitable for hosting percussion concerts, solo performances/solo recitals, chamber music concerts, recitals, multimedia experimental music theater productions. In addition, it is also suitable for formal ceremonies and various lectures. The walls are made of professional soundproofing materials, thick and solid, completely isolating external environmental noise. The interior decoration of the theater is made of high-grade solid oak wood, with good reflection effects, creating a clear and resonant sound field. In order to express the beauty of "rest" and "extreme soft volume" in music, the air conditioning system is an important design element of the Shifang Joy Music Theater, completely eliminating the wind noise from air conditioning ducts commonly found in small performance venues and multi-functional large performance venues. The audience seating is a tiered seating arrangement, using movable folding chairs, which can be flexibly used according to the needs of each performance team, accommodating approximately 100 people. In 1997, percussionist Hsü Po-nien and pianist Luo Mei-ya, both passionate about art, returned to Taiwan, the land they deeply loved, with the desire to create a humanistic art garden. Given the limited number of professional performance venues in Taiwan at the time, especially those suitable for modern music performances, they decided to transform a small factory in a narrow alley in the Datong District of Taipei into Taiwan's first private art hall. The 3.6-meter-high small music theater has a golden-ratio sound space. To make this place a home for musicians, a Mardio café was set up outside the music theater, serving coffee, fine wine, and meals, using food to bring people closer to music and art. Today, the Shifang Joy Music Theater has been established for over twenty years, hosting numerous international masters and collaborating with many young musicians returning from abroad. This place is where many professional musicians and Golden Melody Award winners produce albums and record CDs; it is the preferred venue for many music teachers to hold student concerts; it is the fertile ground for Taiwanese contemporary composers to grow and develop, hosting modern music forums; and it is filled with love and emotion for art. The story here, we invite you to continue telling it with us. (Source: Shifang Joy)
