Remember the nostalgic memories of seeing Yakult Mom on her bicycle delivering Yakult door-to-door, and enjoying a taste of the sweet and sour Yakult drink when visiting the Yakult factory? The globally recognized Yakult brand has been operating in Taiwan for over half a century. The Yakult factory moved to Zhongli, Taoyuan from New Zhuang, Taipei in 1999 and underwent a local reconstruction of new facilities in 2013. The current modern Zhongli factory integrates green energy, eco-friendly, and technologically advanced features.
Upon entering the first-floor reception area, visitors will be greeted by a three-dimensional Yakult Mom doll expressing a warm welcome. The entire visiting area is designed with a "floor-to-ceiling window" layout, making the space bright and comfortable. The tour route is carefully planned to include display zones of Yakult's historical development, early artifacts, and product showcases, as well as a production observation corridor. Throughout the tour, there are audio-visual guides illustrating the lactic acid bacteria cultivation process and product manufacturing steps, allowing visitors to understand how Yakult is produced. Visitors also have the opportunity to experience real-time magnification of Yakult's live lactic acid bacteria via microscopes.
In addition to the tour path, visitors can discover the three-dimensional Yakult Mom dolls, showcase cases of Yakult bottles from around the world, a large Yakult model made from over 2,000 used Yakult bottles, and a cartoon-themed photo area for picture-taking. In the future, a Yakult merchandise sales area is also planned. Outside the factory, there are energy-saving and eco-friendly installations such as rainwater recycling systems and solar-powered lighting, making it an excellent destination for outdoor educational field trips!
