Located in the Taoyuan Environmental Technology Industrial Park, Chuan-Tai Resource Technology Plant No. 2 specializes in recycling of waste lighting devices and treatment of mercury-containing waste in the environmental industry, promoting the concept of "turning waste into gold." In 2014, it obtained certification as an Environmental Resource Education Center by the Environmental Protection Administration of the Executive Yuan, actively promoting resource recycling and reutilization. Currently, in addition to opening its facilities to various government agencies, organizations, universities, colleges, and neighboring communities, it also welcomes international visitors, promoting Taiwan's leading green technology abroad and working together to contribute to the love of the Earth. Chuan-Tai Resource Technology Plant No. 2 has independently developed leading global recycling and dismantling technology for waste lighting devices. Its greatest feature is that it can convert 95% of the waste into usable resources, while the processed mercury reaches the standards of high purity and high recovery rates. In addition, using waste glass processing technology to manufacture recycled glass resources can effectively reduce resource waste. The Chuan-Tai Environmental Resource Education Center now offers two guide courses: Course One, "Three Feet Above Your Head is a Light Tube—Mercury Pollution and Its Environmental Impact," a two-hour session that will provide in-depth knowledge of mercury pollution, as well as understanding its effects on health, and subsequently learn how to actively avoid mercury pollution. Course Two, "Transform Waste into Treasures—Resource Regeneration of Waste Light Tubes and Waste Glass," teaches proper garbage classification concepts, discovers reusable resources in landfills, and creatively transforms trash into art pieces with originality. At the conclusion of the course, visitors are invited to demonstrate their imagination and creativity in DIY glass art activities, practicing environmental protection concepts by utilizing recycled glass raw materials produced on-site. These uniquely handmade souvenirs provide a profoundly meaningful memory of the visit.
