Strolling along the wooden stairs of the Daqiuqiong Ancient Path, you'll see moss-covered old stone steps nearby. Can you imagine that this was once a bustling commercial road filled with bustling crowds? Before the North Link Highway was completed, the ancestors in the Biji and Am Ping areas had to take this mountain path to transport agricultural products from the mountainous region to Daxi for sale. With the changing times, the former prosperity has become a yellowing page of history. Now, preserving a rich ecology, the Daqiuqiong Ancient Path features distinct attractions in each season and has become an ideal leisure spot for enjoying forest therapy and sycamore blossoms. To arrive at the Daqiuqiong Ancient Path via the Ta-7 road, pass through the Zhugaozuo industry path. The red-brick old house, now deserted, remains serene and quiet. Without any need for additional effort, drive straight ahead, and turn left at the Zhugaozuo bus stop. Facing you is a peaceful sight: the Touniao Dam reflects the blue sky, white clouds, and green trees, like a welcome gift given to every visitor. This divided pond, also known as Xinfu Canal, features a noticeable "floating island" — the unique land god temple in the water. The local land god was relocated to Fuchang Temple due to the pond's construction, creating a unique sight. Continuing forward, you'll reach the Daqiu Temple, marking the official start of your ancient path journey. Occasionally, you may find stone walls inscribed with calligraphy, covered in moss, subtly exuding a Zen-like elegance. Walking to the saddle point, you can choose to veer right toward Chihchou Mountain or turn left toward Touniao Mountain, Nanzai Gou Ancient Path, Governor's Office Trail, and Baijie Forest Shade Path. After a brief rest at the Shishitang resthouse, continue descending along the downhill route until reaching the Tao51 road, the main exit of the ancient path. The Daqiuqiong Ancient Path is locally renowned for its sycamore blossom pathway. In May, sycamore blossoms explode into view among the Snow Mountains and drift along the creek bed, each possessing its own romantic charm. The deeper you travel into the forest, the more you'll spot butterflies like the purple serpent's eye butterfly and the purple swallowtail fluttering in the woods. The dazzling butterfly wings under the sunlight enchantingly captivate viewers, transforming the experience into stepping into a fairytale world — a cherished memory of your journey through Daqiuqiong.
