On ordinary days or holidays, one can often see groups of friends and families visiting together, making it a backyard collectively owned by the people of Taichung. The most distinctive feature of the area is its 14 mountain trails. Trails 1 to 8 were opened at the beginning of 1981, built according to the natural terrain of Dakeng Mountain and its intersecting streams, with the highest elevation being 859 meters at Touwu Mountain.
