When my aging father left the old family house to me, the youngest son, it became the moment that drew me home.
I wanted to put down roots—roots that could grow sustainably right here in Yunlin.
I hope this dream will let Yunlin’s children keep a stake in their hometown,
so they too can choose to come home instead of only moving away.
In Taiwan, one out of every two sweet potatoes comes from Yunlin,
and rooted here, we aim to share Yunlin’s—and Taiwan’s—sweet-potato goodness under the name Hu-Zhen-Tang.
What kind of sweet-potato product can last?
“Insist on top quality!”—the only answer I know, and the promise Hu-Zhen-Tang makes to itself.
We devote ourselves day and night to crops straight from the earth,
blending in local ingredients from every township to unlock the sweet potato’s countless flavors.
Through premium, inventive pastries,
we plant sweet-potato roots in Yunlin and let its shoots
spread from Hu-Zhen-Tang.
