Memories of Home-Cooked Flavor
Forty years ago, a retired veteran reminisced about the taste of his hometown cuisine and began to cook dishes with that nostalgic flavor, hoping to soothe his homesickness. From tasting the food himself and then opening a restaurant, the authentic Chinese flavors have won over everyone’s palate—this is the “Mainland Restaurant” located next to Wu‑Feng Temple in Zhongpu Township. The restaurant has been in business for over forty years, and is now run by the second‑generation owner, Yang Song‑tao. Mr. Yang inherited his father’s culinary skills and refined them, bringing a variety of Chinese dishes that differ from typical Taiwanese flavors.
