The Qimei Museum is located within the Elderly Wellness Activity Center. Currently, the first floor of the activity center serves as a hall where villagers can engage in leisure activities, such as karaoke. It also houses a gym and a conference room, making it a multifunctional activity center. The exhibition hall is on the second floor, and its purpose is to showcase how the people of Qimei Island have long used local resources to meet daily needs in a harsh natural environment. It focuses on cookware, tableware, food, clothing, architecture, settlements and living spaces, local history, folklore festivals, and Qimei medicinal plants. The goal is to make culture the cornerstone of tourism, stimulate the local economy, preserve and promote traditional culture, serve as a premier venue for environmental education, enhance residents’ cultural awareness, enrich Qimei’s tourism resources, and create a local cultural industry that becomes a cultural hub for residents’ daily life and interaction. The museum’s spaces include an exhibition hall, a digital experience zone, and a DIY creative area. After opening, it displayed a series of Yash Stone artifacts, Japanese colonial period flower tiles, and children’s toys, expressing the unique characteristics of Taiwan’s island antiquities. In addition, the museum is equipped with computers, allowing visitors to browse domestic and international information and events online at any time.
