The Saikou Trail is located behind Saikou Elementary School, with a total length of 2,100 meters, leading to the Saikou Airfield. While strolling along the trail, you can often hear the calls of the majestic Brahminy Kite and the Crested Goshawk soaring through the skies. If you're lucky, the protected species, the Black Drongo, may also join in with its deep, nasal humming sound. At night, you can even hear the hooting of owls. Near the entrance of the trail, Saikou Elementary School has built a butterfly ecological garden, where many butterfly food grasses and nectar source plants are cultivated. If you take a nighttime ecological tour, listen closely and you might hear the ticking sounds of the Hyla Rain Frog, the turkey-like calls of the Moore's Tree Frog, the chirping sounds of the Japanese Tree Frog, the human-like flushing sound of the Latouche's Red Frog, and the begging calls of the Asian Bullfrog. The collective singing of these different species of frogs creates a lively and interesting atmosphere, much like a symphony performance. Recommended stay time is about 1 hour, allowing you to leisurely experience the relaxation of the ecological trail and the natural scenery along the way.
