The century-old Wutu Power Plant is located on the south bank of the mid-reaches of the Zhuoshui River in Wutu Village. Built in 1923, it was originally constructed for the Wushantou Reservoir, with electricity transmitted as far as 100 kilometers away. The plant houses three fully preserved generating units that are still in operation today. Its water source is drawn from the Zhuoshui and Qingshui Rivers. The turbine hall is a Baroque-style brick structure without beams, columns, or steel reinforcement, and the internal machinery is over 70 years old, making it an important asset in Taiwan’s power-development history.
