「Wow! Our park has an无敌 view of the sea, sitting right at the front row with an unobstructed view of the Taiwan Strait!」LinYuan Coastal Wetland Park is a wetland-themed green space. Although its wetland spans merely 6.2 hectares, a typical small wetland, its compact-yet-beautiful wetlands connect seamlessly to the sea, offering panoramic vistas of the Taiwan Strait and even a distant view of Xiaolushui Island. Many people may remember LinYuan only as a "passing-by" spot, unaware that it harbors many hidden gems. The park is nestled at the coastal junction of Taishiqian Road leading into Xizhen and Gangzui communities, located at the intersection of Houkang Road and Banhuo Road, with convenient transportation and vibrant ecological attractions, it conceals a rich natural paradise, boasting hidden wonders of wild splendor and is a must-visit stop for Kaohsiung journeys. Before its designation as a wetland park, the area already thrived with rich biodiversity. This mysterious and fertile tidal flat nurtured a wide array of bird species, plants, and aquatic creatures like fish, shrimps, and crabs, showcasing a high diversity of life. Particularly notable are ancient native mangroves and Heritiera littoralis trees over 150 years old. Additionally, it offers an incredibly rare spectacle: the upside-down floating jellyfish. The park incorporates a "lightweight" and "minimalist" design concept, divided into four main zones: the Mangrove Conservation Area, Environmental Education Area, Living Recreation Area, and Coastal Activity Area. It serves as a prime educational wetland for families, where just a few steps lead to the beach allowing both adults and children to play in the sand and water. The park features cycling paths and pedestrian trails, making it a delightful secret haven for cyclists. At dusk, strollers and scenery gazers leisurely walk along the seawall, with the horizon merging into a seamless line between land and sea. Watching the beautiful sunset slowly submerge into the ocean creates a perfect setting for couples to share romantic moments or for nature and photography enthusiasts to capture unforgettable landscapes. A rare site in all of Taiwan—the Upside-Down Jellyfish (Blue Queen Jellyfish)—once a secret spot unnoticed by many, it has recently gained fame due to these jellyfish. The best time to observe them is during the winter months, peaking in March as the breeding season. As summer temperatures rise, their numbers plummet drastically. Visiting between September and May of the following year allows lucky visitors the chance to glimpse the rare "Blue Queen" jellyfish. Whether you're an adult or a child, when closely observing these jellyfish, remember not to touch or disturb them! These upside-down jellyfish float with their bell-shaped bodies downward and tentacles upwards, gently swaying in shallow water. Their tentacles contain symbiotic algae that perform photosynthesis to provide energy, hence their habit of staying inverted during the day to expose their tentacles to sunlight. These tentacles possess weak toxicity, so please avoid any contact or disturbance. Contact information: 1. Director Jun-Qiang Chen, LinYuan Love-for-locals Association, 0931-920823; 2.
