Beitou Hot Spring has been famous since the Japanese rule era. Japanese people who love soaking in hot springs naturally wouldn't miss it. Takinoyu, Hoshinoyu, and Tekinoyu are names given by the Japanese based on the characteristics and therapeutic effects of the hot springs. It's said to have excellent therapeutic effects on skin diseases, neurasthenia, asthma, rheumatism, and more, making it one of the most famous hot spring destinations in the north. The泉源 (spring source) of Xinbeitou Hot Spring is Dahuangkou Hot Spring, with a泉質 (spring quality) belonging to sulfate spring, pH value around 3-4, and water quality appearing yellowish-white semi-transparent. The spring water temperature is around 50-90°C, with a slight sulfur smell. Currently, most of Beitou's hot spring resorts, hotels, and clubs are concentrated along Zhongshan Road, Guangming Road, and near Beitou Park and Di热谷 (Geothermal Valley), each with its own unique features. They offer diverse hot spring therapies and recreational facilities for tourists to soak and rejuvenate. Nearby attractions are also worth visiting, such as the three treasures of Beitou Hot Spring: Yingsong Pavilion, Hoshinoyu, and Takinoyu, as well as the Tian Gou'an Historical Park, which records Taiwan's first hot spring resort. These places have a profound historical background. Beitou Park, Beitou Hot Spring Museum, Beitou Cultural Museum, and Di热谷 (Geothermal Valley) are must-visit spots for tourists. Visiting Beitou not only allows you to cleanse your mind and body with hot springs but also to gain a deeper understanding of Beitou Hot Spring's rich cultural and historical heritage.
