The Yehliu Lighthouse was established in 1967, with a height of 11.3 meters, and is located at the highest point of Turtle Head Mountain in the third district of Yehliu Geopark. It can be accessed from the main trail on the headland, which leads to a fork in the road to the lighthouse. Designed with a candle-shaped motif based on the candle rock formation, the lighthouse complements Yehliu's internationally renowned landscape. The lighthouse is situated between the radiation ranges of the Fuqi Lighthouse and Keelung Lighthouse, aiming to enhance the navigation function of Keelung Harbor. Since the Qing dynasty, the rocky and reef-filled Yehliu has been prone to shipwrecks. However, the establishment of the lighthouse has improved the situation. From beneath the lighthouse, one can gaze out at the vast Pacific Ocean, with the narrow stretch of land extending into the sea in the distance being the Jinshan Cape. Next to the lighthouse stands a radio tower, which was set up to meet the needs of fisheries communication. Due to its bright red and white colors and height of over 20 meters, it is often mistaken for the Yehliu Lighthouse.
