Visiting the Daxi Old Tea Factory is like embarking on a leisurely journey titled "Tea Tasting Moments." In 1926, the Japanese built the Kuan Board Mountain Factory, the predecessor of the Daxi Tea Factory, thereby initiating the magnificent tea-making history of Daxi and establishing it as the "New Aristocracy of Tea in Its Time." However, a devastating fire in 1956 nearly destroyed the tea factory completely. Since 2010, the Taiwan Agricultural and Forestry Company has meticulously restored the site, reviving this tea heritage that had remained dormant for half a century with a harmonious fusion of old and new, presenting it once again before the world. The exterior of the Daxi Old Tea Factory draws its design inspiration from the Darjeeling Tea Factory in India, while its interior incorporates a blend of Taiwanese and Japanese architectural elements, embodying a rich multicultural atmosphere. The building’s primary color is blue. Whether in the window lattices, beams, shaped shelves, walls, or artistic paintings, the subdued blue tone complements the factory's brick-and-cedar structure perfectly. Beneath this "Daxi Blue," the calm beauty of time-worn elegance and antique tea-making equipment subtly whispers the philosophy of tea amidst a Zen-inspired ambience. Savoring the aroma of tea and the essence of humanity, every corner of the tea factory is captivating. Stroll by the still water pond to feel the fleeting serenity away from the city. Admire the Pu'er Tea Wall stacked with over 100 tea bricks, sipping on the fragrance of years passed. Relax in the Reading Area, where the world of books allows you to escape time. Sit with friends in the Tea Bookhouse to share a simple meal and casual conversation. Don’t forget to sketch on the graffiti book, leaving a beautiful note for this mini-trip. Staying in harmony with nature is the Daxi Old Tea Factory’s enduring principle. The production process uses no pesticides, advocating for safe, organic food. All products have passed SGS certification. Monthly vegetarian buffet reservations are open, offering 15 locally seasonal dishes paired with tea, each with pure flavors and refreshing sweetness, allowing travelers to savor the exquisite charm of tea. Additionally, daily set menus are available, introducing a minimalist yet unforgettable culinary culture.
