Standing on the sandbar, the Guo Sheng Harbor Lighthouse, built in 1957, is located in Qigou District, Tainan City, and is the westernmost lighthouse in Taiwan. It is a square cone-shaped steel frame structure with a black and white tower. The original Guo Sheng Harbor Lighthouse was activated and lit, but it was hit by typhoons and eroded by tides, and the sandbar was lost. The entire lighthouse was plunged into the vast ocean. In 1969, it was hit by the typhoon "Vera" and the tower collapsed, rendering it unusable. In June 1970, it was moved to the nearby Dingtoubu Sha and a new tower was built to replace the old one.
One-day tour suggested itinerary: Qigou Salt Mountain → Taiwan Salt Museum → Qigou Lagoon boat tour → Guo Sheng Harbor Lighthouse. There is no lighting at night, and it is not recommended to visit at night. As the north entrance of the Beiti seawall is prone to sand accumulation due to wind, visitors are advised to pay attention to safety to avoid getting stuck in the mud and sand. It is recommended to enter from the south entrance of the Beiti seawall.
