The "Shierliao Leisure Farm" located in Emei Township, Hsinchu County, is situated within the Lion Head Mountain National Scenic Area. He started his leisure farm business by following in his father's footsteps in agricultural production and sales. After returning to his hometown for six years, he achieved success. In late 1990, he shifted his business focus to leisure agriculture. Initially, he focused on mass production, but later transitioned to the current model of precision agriculture, planting a variety of crops in small quantities. Depending on the season, visitors can pick and enjoy various fruits and vegetables. The unique farm tourism and leisure activities offer a new experience for urbanites and a great getaway for group outings. Shierliao got its name from the 12th camphor寮 during the Japanese colonial period. There are approximately 40 businesses and 10 bicycle rental shops in the area, with a total of around 800 to 900 bicycles available. Visitors can ride bicycles through ponds, reservoirs, suspension bridges, and paths, taking advantage of the diverse terrain and landscape. This makes it an ideal choice for cycling enthusiasts. Along the shores of Emei Lake, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and lake. The area also features well-planned bicycle routes. For travelers visiting Shierliao, it is recommended to start with a hike on the Shierliao trail. Early in the morning, the trail is filled with various insects, butterflies, and birds, allowing visitors to embark on an ecological journey.
