Yehliu Fishing Harbor is located in Wanli District, New Taipei City, in the Yehliu Village. It was built utilizing the natural bay on the west side of the Yehliu Peninsula. During the Japanese occupation, a 100M breakwater and a simple wharf for small boats were constructed. After the retreat of the Japanese, the government sent personnel to survey and plan the renovation. Later, Yehliu Fishing Harbor was gradually expanded. With the completion of the 8th interchange of the Zhongshan Highway, the fishing products from this area could be directly transported to the highway without needing to pass through Keelung City, greatly expanding the port's range of transportation and making Yehliu Fishing Harbor more important in the fishing industry of northern Taiwan. In recent years, the construction of the east and west outer seawalls has greatly improved the stability of the harbor area, but it is limited to the inner harbor area. During typhoons, when the inner harbor is not sufficient, local fishing boats still need to go to Keelung and neighboring Jinshan Fishing Harbor to take shelter. Visitors can experience the fishing port atmosphere of a small town, enjoy fresh seafood, and see the beautiful scenery of the fishing boats at night. Walking on Yehliu Street, you can feel the fishing port atmosphere of a small town, with the sea breeze blowing gently, and the smell of the sea coming towards you. Along the Renwu Temple next to Yehliu Elementary School, you can see the entire Yehliu Fishing Harbor. When night falls, the fishing boats are dotted with lights, and it is very beautiful.
