花蓮縣秀林鄉榕樹一鄰二號(仁壽橋的橋頭)
"Mukumugi" is a phonetic adaptation of the Taroko language "Mukumugi," meaning "this place." The name originates from Taroko people, who first migrated to this area and found the landscape of the wilderness exceptionally grand and beautiful. They praised the local scenery in their language. Visitors must apply for a mountain entry permit and proceed along twisting gorges after passing the checkpoints gradually into Mukau Creek, where "Mukumugi" will present itself with green hills, crystal clear water, and red bridges before the eyes. There are eight power plants along the route, showcasing abundant hydropower resources not only for electricity generation but also serving as irrigation sources for three townships: Xilin, Jianshan, and Shufeng. The Qingshui Creek Power Plant generates electricity specifically from Qingshui Creek, supplying water and electricity to local Taroko communities. Currently, the area is designed as a natural ecological corridor, featuring attractions such as the Muku Muyu Visitor Center, Qingshui Creek, Jade Valley, Nengao Gorge Ancient Path, and Copper Mine. Here, visitors can experience intimate contact with nature and immerse themselves in the spiritual洗礼of the vast mountains and forests. Travel reminders: 1. Apply for the mountain entry permit directly to Tongmen Police Station on the same day. Morning (300 people) applications open at 7:30, and afternoon (300 people) applications open at 12:00. Alternatively, you can apply via the website of the Ministry of the Interior's Police Administration 3 to 30 days before the visit and print the permit. 2. The fee is NTD $10 per person for processing the mountain entry permit, and a valid ID is required.
