Since 1920, the area surrounding what is now Nanguo Elementary School in Changhua City, Changhua County, has been known as “Nanguo.” It belonged to Changhua County under Taichū Prefecture, and its chief administrator was titled “County Magistrate.” Sixteen dormitories were built here and remain in use as county-government housing to this day. As times changed, the dormitory cluster gradually fell into disuse; teachers and pupils of Nanguo Elementary launched a campaign to protect and revitalize the site, and in 2017 they officially took over the operation of Buildings No. 7 and 8. Here, the children invite everyone to explore the many possibilities of these historic structures and to share their own stories of this place.
