The low-carbon station shower room next to Shuangxi Station is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and supplies hot and cold water. It operates on coin payment: every NT$10 gives 4 minutes, and coins can be inserted consecutively. In addition, five holiday bicycle rest stops—Weihui Temple, Ci’an Temple, Shoushan Temple, Baomin Hall, and Qingyun Temple—are marked with guide signs along the route and provide bike racks, tea bags, coffee, leisure chairs, and simple repair & pump tools, making them the most cyclist-friendly rest areas for low-carbon travel in Shuangxi; all are welcome to make good use of them. The “low-carbon station” was fully renovated by the New Taipei City Tourism Bureau in cooperation with the local office and features the nation’s first cyclist shower facility, inaugurated on 18 May 2015. The two enlarged shower cubicles are equipped with hair-dryers, lockers, toilets, and emergency buttons; cyclists should bring their own change of clothes, towels, and toiletries, and may wheel bikes or personal belongings inside for security.
