Nei Shuangxi Natural Park

2024-04-11
Located at the southeast corner of Shilin District, Nei-Shuang溪 Natural Park covers an area of 104 hectares and is the largest forest natural park in Taipei. With its rich ecology and terrain features, it is comparable to the scenery of Xi Tou, and is therefore also known as the "Small Xi Tou of Taipei." The Taipei City Department of Land Development invested in the renovation and planning of hiking trails, observation decks, and industrial roads, connecting the Nei-Shuang溪 mountainous area of Neihu and Shilin Districts, and integrating the resources of Nei-Shuang溪 forest, natural park, Bishan Camping Ground, Baishi Lake rural community, and surrounding landscape ecology. The entrance of the park has the "Bi Xi Bridge," with stone carvings of the Formosan tree frog on both ends, highlighting the rich ecology unique to the Small Xi Tou area. The bridge's guardrail also has a semi-circular observation deck, allowing visitors to enjoy the flowing stream of Nei-Shuang溪 and the peculiar rocks of Shi Tou Mountain. Walking along the hiking trail, you can see a large wooden observation deck made of black teak wood. The four pillars retain their original wooden shapes, giving the structure a grand appearance. There is also a plum blossom-shaped square at the entrance, providing a place for people to rest. From the 6-meter-high observation deck, you can enjoy a distant view of Da Luonui Mountain and Yuanshan Mountain. The park also has a solar power demonstration system, which uses solar energy to achieve energy-saving and carbon-reduction effects, and provides demonstration education to the public through simple interactive experiences. This area is part of the Bi Xi watershed, with abundant water sources, making it a fertile ground for ecology. Moreover, the terrain is located in the transitional zone between the ancient Snow Mountain Range and the emerging Daxuetou Mountain Range, offering rich ecological resources and varied landscapes, providing the public with an environment for recreation that combines life, leisure, and ecology.
