Built in 2011, the museum has an inscription tablet inside, which reads: "The late Mr. Yang Qinglian (1902-1968) was born in Meidong Village, Jinning Township. As a child, he studied in a private school. As he grew up, he was determined to achieve great ambitions. He resolutely left his hometown of Wu Island and traveled alone to the southern country. When he first arrived in a foreign land, he was unfamiliar with the local customs, and lived in a desolate place. However, he strictly upheld the "Four Kinds of Awareness" ancestral teachings and the family tradition of integrity. With a sincere and upright nature, and with the virtue of the Doctrine of the Mean, he was able to overcome numerous difficulties and gradually achieve success. Later, he married Ms. Huang Jinqie, and together they had six sons and three daughters, living a happy and warm family life. My late father and mother lived simply and were strict with themselves, while being generous and helpful to others. Starting as an employee, he eventually established his own business, and through his perseverance and excellence, he finally founded the "Yang Enterprise." The Doctrine of the Mean says, "Those with great virtue will surely obtain position, salary, fame, and longevity." The Book of Changes states, "A family with accumulated virtue will have abundant blessings." Only those who have accumulated virtue through generations, who cultivate virtue in themselves and practice filial piety in the family, from ancestors to descendants, passing it down without interruption, can raise filial and respectful children and enjoy genuine blessings in the world. This is also what the common saying expresses: "Having good descendants is a blessing." Our family has received the protection of our ancestors above, and the sincere filial piety below. Our family's virtue and morality are the best embodiment of the saying that although we do not expect rewards from the Creator, the rewards from the Creator are always present, and blessings come from virtue. As a child, I was taught the family teachings of respecting the elderly and the virtuous, filial piety, loyalty, trustworthiness, and the harmony between brothers. This enabled me to carry on the family tradition, and with the support of Ms. Chen Kairong, I have worked together to strive for new achievements, and recently invested a large sum to enter the high-speed rail and telecommunications industries. My father pioneered this path, and I continued it, thus writing a new milestone in my business career. Building luxurious houses and establishing schools are things that the people of Kinmen have long appreciated, and it is also my long-cherished wish. The trees and wood have feelings, but our parents are no longer here. The boundless virtue of Heaven is beyond our ability to repay. There is sorrow in going out and receiving condolences, and regret in not being able to return. In order to express filial piety for the roots of the tree and the source of the water, and to fulfill the thoughts of respecting the deceased and remembering the ancestors, I have renovated the Mingxin Ancestral Temple, which was originally built in the Tongzhi era of the Qing Dynasty, in the style of a one-story building with four wings and a dragon-shaped enclosure. I have built a three-story building called "Yang Mingxin Ancestral Temple and Yang Qinglian Memorial Museum." The first and second floors are set up as a memorial hall to commemorate the late Mr. Yang Qinglian's entrepreneurial journey, while the third floor is used as an ancestral temple for the "spring sacrifices and autumn offerings." Rituals are simply about respect. Building this memorial museum can fulfill the late Mr. Yang Qinglian's last wish, allowing the ancestral temple to shine again, and giving the ancestors a place to reside. Those who visit this hall can organize the order of the ancestors and express their filial thoughts. The Book of Poetry, Da Ya, says, "Do not forget your ancestors, and cultivate your virtue." In order to promote the virtues of parents in educating their children properly, and to continue the long-term plan of cultivating talents in our hometown, I have donated funds to expand the campus of Kinmen University, hoping to benefit thousands of students. This is my hope."
