The Mingyi Old Street is located outside the northern gate of Kinmen City, with a history of more than 400 years, and is called the oldest street in Kinmen. Small houses line both sides of the street, and originally, the four exits of the street had barrier gates. The Mingyi Old Street was once the bustling market of Kinmen City, and the locals also call it "Caijie" (vegetable market street). As Kinmen's political and economic center gradually shifted from the early Qing Dynasty to Houpu, the street gradually declined. In order to preserve the memory of Kinmen's first street, three buildings on the Mingyi Old Street have been transformed into a story museum, displaying the lifestyle of ordinary people in the past. It has detailed descriptions about beliefs, farming, and daily life. The Huang Tianyou Memorial Museum: Mr. Huang Tianyou went to Singapore to study medicine when he was young, and returned to Kinmen to settle down at the age of 29. He originally rented a house on the Model Street to practice medicine, and later moved back to the Western-style building in Kinmen City to practice medicine. He passed away at the age of 41 due to enteritis, leaving behind three sons, one daughter, and his second wife Chen Qing to take care of this Western-style building. Due to the building's long-term disrepair, it would leak during the rain. Chen Qing's eldest son built a new-style house next to the Western-style building to live in, while this Western-style building, filled with memories of time, relies on government support for repairs to avoid the fate of collapse.
