The fan-shaped salt field is located in General Kunsi Village. It belongs to the first work area of Qigou Salt Field. It is situated between the south of General Fish Harbor and the north of Qing Kunsi. It was opened by Taiwan Salt in 1975 and started salt production in 1977. It is the youngest and most distinctive salt field in Taiwan. The fan-shaped salt field is centered on the salt worker's dormitory and radiates outward to form a fan-shaped salt field. The fan bones in the salt field are water supply ditch, drainage ditch, brine supply ditch, and road. The salt field is divided into blocks by the fan bones. Among them, the crystallization pool for salt collection is located closest to the dormitory, which is convenient for salt workers to operate nearby. From the opening of the fan-shaped salt field to the transition to mechanized salt production, it took only a decade. Much of the salt production labor originally belonged to short-term work. Only during the peak salt production season would local residents be recruited to help with salt collection. Therefore, it did not take root like the salt workers in the Taiwan and South Salt areas. After salt production ended in 2002, it quickly became deserted and is now abandoned. During the twilight period, you can admire the colorful sunset glow at the periphery of the salt field. The sunset glow reflected on the water surface of the salt field forms a romantic scene, which is one of the popular places to take photos recently. Looking down from the air, you can also see the beauty of the texture of the fan-shaped salt field.
