Shiang Shuai Bakery was founded in 1982 by Mr. Wang Zhi-de. Every step forward has been sincere, attentive, and grounded. We continuously develop new cake flavors, hoping to bring diverse tastes, unique textures, and affordable, delicious desserts. One day, by chance, our founder tasted taro grown by indigenous friends in Hualien; its superb texture left a deep impression and inspired the idea of creating taro cake. With perseverance and determination, he finally discovered the optimal ratio of water to sugar, allowing the cake to retain its fresh, original flavor—this is why our signature taro lava roll has been popular since 1985 and has won acclaim. Shiang Shuai Bakery is committed to promoting tourism in Xizhi. Leveraging our long-cultivated brand power and industry influence, we have also invested in green energy: our main building’s roof hosts an 18 kW solar photovoltaic system, integrating Shiang Shuai Taro Workshop with solar power to serve as a demonstrative site. We hope more people will learn about and join the green-energy sector, working together to protect Taiwan’s environment!
