In anticipation by Hong Kong residents and astronomy enthusiasts, the Astronomy Education Center located inside Henghe Elementary School in the Xiaogang District was established in 2000. This small but beautiful facility focuses mainly on astronomy instruction while also promoting it as a supplement. Through a multimedia display hall, an observatory, various equipment and models, the center houses a 300 mm reflecting telescope worth over six million dollars, inviting you to step into the hall of astronomy. By watching, observing, and hands‑on practice, you can catch a glimpse of the mysteries of the universe. The Astronomy Education Center holds annual activities such as children’s astronomy camps and special celestial observation sessions, offering lively camp‑style lessons to increase children's interest and understanding of astronomy. It also opens a “Mobile Astronomy Classroom” for group rentals, hoping to spread the center’s outreach further and lead more people into the vast realm of astronomical science.
