Taipei Zoo is one of the top ten urban zoos in the world. You can reach it by taking the MRT Muzha Line to the last station. The zoo houses more than 400 species of animals, making it the largest zoo in Southeast Asia.

The zoo is divided into indoor and outdoor exhibition areas. First, you should visit the "Insect House," where you can see native butterfly species in Taiwan. Next, don't miss the highly popular "Koala House" and "Penguin House." There are also two giant pandas from China, which are all popular animal stars in the zoo. Come and see their adorable appearances!

The iconic animal of the previous generation was the Asian elephant "Lin Wang." Lin Wang lived to be 86 years old, 20 years longer than the average Asian elephant, and was called a miracle by zoologists. After his passing, he was preserved as a specimen, which is the largest Asian elephant specimen in the world, currently on display at the "Education Center."

In addition to the indoor exhibition halls, the outdoor exhibition areas are divided according to the geographical environment, serving both species display and ecological education functions. Among them, the "Children's Zoo," "Taiwan Native Animal Area," and "African Animal Area" are the most popular exhibition areas in the zoo's online voting. The "Taiwan Native Animal Area" exhibits native species such as sika deer, black bears, Formosan macaques, and blue-spotted wood doves. These are all exclusive to Taiwan, so don't miss them!
