台北市中山區中山北路3段181號
Opened in 1983, it is Taiwan's first modern art museum. The space and exhibition planning are fresh and lively, combining people's daily lives with art appreciation. The museum consists of one basement level and three ground levels. The basement mainly features exhibitions by young artists and groups, as well as competition exhibitions, and provides services such as library and dining. On the first floor, apart from the entrance hall, there is a large wall of 6 meters high and a spacious area with a 3-story high ceiling, mainly used for important domestic and international large-scale exhibitions. The second floor has permanent exhibition areas arranged according to the framework of art history or themes, displaying various collections. The third floor, with bright lighting and a double cross-shaped interlaced space, mainly features theme exhibitions. The building was designed by architects Kao and Pan. In addition to exhibitions, the museum regularly holds discussions and family activities on weekends, creating opportunities for interaction between the museum and the public, and bringing art closer to daily life. The museum has also introduced extended opening hours on Saturdays, and to create a strong artistic atmosphere during the night, it has specifically increased lighting for the building and outdoor sculptures. The large bronze sculpture "Zhu Ming - Taiji Arch" and the red stainless steel sculpture "Li Zaizhong - Red No Less" on the square have become beautiful visual highlights of Zhongshan North Road at night.
