The Taipei City Social Education Center, established in 1964, is a familiar cultural and art space, with the primary goal of promoting art and cultural activities. Its open areas mainly feature static exhibitions in the first-floor lobby and three exhibition halls, and it also regularly presents various music, dance, and drama activities on the "City Stage" and "Art Plaza."
The Social Education Center also includes the "Wenyuan" area for study, meetings, and general public reading and leisure. In addition to allowing external applications for borrowing, the Social Education Center itself also holds various study courses, cultural and artistic performances, folk culture promotion, and citizens' social activities, making the center full of vitality and interaction. It also sends out monthly activity updates to various local areas, striving to promote cultural and artistic activities.
After the renovation of the building was completed in 2003, the performance area was renamed "City Stage" and re-launched, becoming a more professional and modern comprehensive theater, which has become a more modern city activity space. In addition to the main branch of the Social Education Center on Badu Road, it has also built the Yanping Activity Center in the Datong District, the Wenshan Branch in the Wenshan District, and the Parent-Child Plaza in the City Hall Building. This not only alleviates the limitations on the number of users of the main branch, but also allows more citizens to conveniently participate in social education activities.
