The Dahu Oil Pit near the border of neighboring counties is the entrance to today's Jinbaolao Fish Road Ancient Trail. It is located in the upstream of the Huangxi River. If you take Yangjin Highway directly to Shanghuangxi Bridge, you can see the milky white river water flowing under the bridge, which is warm spring water containing sulfur. Not far from the Shanghuangxi Bridge is a parking lot. From the parking lot, walk up one kilometer to the famous Xu Yan Bridge. The Fish Road Ancient Trail was a path taken by fishermen during World War II who sought higher profits. The trail usually started from Jinshan Huanggang, passed through Chengtian Temple and the cemetery, entered the old street, and then followed the Fish Road Ancient Trail all the way to Yangming Mountain, where the fish were sold in Shilin and Beitou. On the return trip, they passed through Dahu Oil Pit and switched to carrying sulfur back to Jinshan. Day after day, generation after generation, the fishermen and travelers who traveled back and forth on the Fish Road left behind stories of their hardships. Today, the Jinbaolao Ancient Trail has been designated as one of the twelve major trails in the Yangming Mountain National Park. This 4-kilometer-long ancient trail offers breathtaking views of green grass and shaded forests, making it a great destination for hiking and outings.
