Yulu Ancient Trail, also known as Yuzi Road or Jinbao Li Road, has an average elevation of 500 meters and is located in Jinshan District, New Taipei City. It was a crucial passage for fishermen from Jinbao Li (Jinshan) to transport fish to Dadaocheng and other areas. The trail starts from the Ba Yanyan station on the Yangjin Highway and ends at Lengshuikeng, with a rich cultural and ecological landscape, making it the most exciting and well-preserved section of the ancient trail. The latter part of the trail is now known as the "Tianmu Ancient Trail", a shaded, cool, and convenient path suitable for family outings.
Along the Yangjin Highway, you can arrive at the Shang Huangxi Parking Lot, where there is an explanatory pavilion that describes the lives of early fishermen and merchants, as well as the mining industry. Following the stone steps up, you can connect to the mountain trail, winding through the layers of forest along the small road, and arrive at the observation deck, which is the best spot to view Dayoukeng. Not far away, you can see the stoves where early miners cooked their meals, and there are also explanatory signs.
Walking further, the Bangkan Waterfall, resembling a silver-white chain, comes into view, refreshing one's spirit. Standing on the small bridge, you can enjoy the cool and leisurely feeling brought by the waterfall and flowing water, which is quite pleasant.
