金門縣893金城鎮珠山聚落
Zhu Shan is located in the southwest of Kinmen Island, at the starting point of the circular road. This is a single-surname village of the Xue family. The ancestors of the Xue family came from Xue Ling in Xiamen during the Yuan Dynasty and settled here, with a history of 650 years to date. The clear colors are the first impression when entering the Zhu Shan village. The village is surrounded by highlands on all sides, with a large pond in the center, forming a "four waters return to the pond" fengshui auspicious site. The entire village expands from the ancestral temple to both sides, surrounding the large pond. The old red brick walls and the deep green clear pond water complement each other, forming a beautiful scene. Walking in Zhu Shan Park and enjoying the view from the top, or quietly appreciating the exquisite brick carvings and Kuan-Ti ceramic art on the old houses, are all highlights of Zhu Shan village. (Jinmen National Park, map) Zhu Shan Park Zhu Shan Park is also called "Ji'an Mountain" or "Zhu Shan" by the locals. Although it is called a mountain, it is actually a small granite hill. Walking up the steps to the pavilion at the top of the park, you can take a short rest, and enjoy the quiet and peaceful surroundings in the cool weather, easing your mind. Don't forget to take a beautiful photo of the Zhu Shan village from the top of the hill! Xue's Grand Ancestral Temple There are two Xue family ancestral temples in Zhu Shan. The one on the right is the Grand Ancestral Temple, which is dedicated to the original ancestors and is shared by all the Xue families in the village. The one on the left is the Minor Ancestral Temple, which is part of a branch family. The Grand Ancestral Temple is beautifully decorated, while the Minor Ancestral Temple is more simple in structure. Both are places to worship ancestors, and they are also places where people pray for their descendants to be outstanding and capable. Xue Yongnan Brothers' Western-style House Zhu Shan village is one of the "overseas Chinese villages" in Kinmen. After the late Qing Dynasty, many villagers went to Luzon (the Philippines) to seek a living, from working to business and eventually becoming rich. Xue Yongnan and his brothers were among them. After achieving success in their business, they built the first Western-style house in their hometown of Zhu Shan. In addition to living, it also had defensive functions. It is now operated and maintained by a homestay operator. Xue Fangjian's Western-style House (the Agency Building) Xue Fangjian's Western-style house was built in 1931, and it is a five-foot-high Western-style house. At that time, there were many pirates along the coast of Kinmen, and the buildings of overseas Chinese were often targets for the pirates' attention. In order to enhance the defense, many Western-style houses were built on high ground and had defensive facilities. Xue Fangjian's Western-style house, Xue Yongnan Brothers' Western-style house, and Zhuo Yan on the eastern side of the village, together form the iron triangle defending Zhu Shan village. During the Japanese occupation period, it was once occupied by Japanese soldiers, so it is also called the "Agency Building."
