Wuhu Mountain is located near the Shanhoushi settlement, with an altitude of 127 meters, making it the second highest mountain in Kinmen. The mountain top has an observation deck, which is suitable for hiking. Not only can you look down on the Shanhoushi settlement, but you can also see the opposite shore. In the past, Wuhu Mountain was a military restricted area used for training soldiers to shoot. The view is very wide, and due to long-term restrictions and sparse population, the original natural landscape of the mountain forest has been preserved. The mountain is rich in native plants, as well as many insects and birds. You may even have the opportunity to meet the wild peacock of Kinmen, which has great ecological research value. The Wuhu Mountain trail is about 1.5 kilometers. From the sweet osmanthus forest to the entrance of the Wuhu Mountain hiking trail is a bicycle path with pleasant scenery. You can also enter from the opposite side of the Shanhoushi folk culture village, where the slope is gentler. It takes about 20 minutes from the entrance to reach the Wuhu Mountain observation deck. Next to the entrance is the Beiyue Temple, built during the Song Dynasty, with the main deity being the Emperor of Beiyue Hengshan, An Tian Xuan Sheng Da Di. The people of Kinmen also call him Yue Wang Gong, and it is also a temple where many people go to pray.
