Tangqi Village, with its long history of development, has long served as the political, economic, and administrative center of Beigan. Nearly three-fifths of the island's population is concentrated in Tangqi, and with the airport adjacent to the village, major restaurants, hotels, guesthouses, and souvenir shops are all gathered here. This is undoubtedly the most prosperous and bustling area in Beigan Township. In recent years, under the guidance of the local government, key roads such as Chungzheng Road and Fuxing Road in Tangqi Village have actively been transformed into the "Tangqi Image Business District." While preserving traditional stone houses and the cultural landmarks featuring slogans from the wartime administration era, an artistic corridor aimed at enhancing the environment has been newly added. Alongside iconic local delicacies like Beigan's famed fish noodles and fish balls, one can also savor the traditional glutinous rice delicacy—"Five-Spiced Fried Rice," available only in Beigan. Moreover, modern facilities like 7-11 convenience stores, post offices, and internet cafes are fully equipped. Visitors can even enjoy popcorn while watching movies at a community cinema organized by the local development association directly with the village residents—a rare experience definitely worth experiencing firsthand.
