屏東縣東港鎮大潭路5-5號
Datan Wetland Ecological Park is located at the northeast of Dapeng Bay, adjacent to Provincial Highway 17, and sits at the southern edge of Datan community. This area has a relatively low-lying terrain and is prone to flooding, so plans were made to create an ecological flood retention system combining artificial wetland treatment. During the rainy season, it can serve flood retention functions, while in non-rainy seasons, it treats domestic sewage, aquaculture wastewater, and non-point source pollution from Provincial Highway 17 and some household sewage from Dapeng Village. The wetland park spans 6 hectares, with full area layouts including an inlet at both east and west sides, sedimentation pond, subsurface flow filter (filter media consists of waste bricks, concrete blocks, gravel, oyster shells), grass marsh zone, shallow water zone, ecological island zone, deep water zone, and outlet. Classified by stormwater runoff artificial wetland types, the Datan wetland features a combination of extended retention type with pouch type. The overall wetland layout process is shown in the figure. Bird species encountered in the wetland include Long-billed Curlew, Little Egret, Cattle Egret, Eurasian Woodcock, Oriental Pratincole, Eastern Spots, and Common Sandpiper.
