Stepping into Lin Tuo Park in Xihai Township, Penghu, you’ll encounter a lush green landscape that is one of the few green spaces in the county during its early years. Since 1946, the Penghu County Government has been actively planting trees, and on this plot of land, nearly 90,000 rhododendrons were planted. The park was established there in 1957. At the end of the entrance path of Lin Tuo Park, on the right side, stands the Military Loyalty Hall, originally called the "Taiwan Province Penghu Military Cemetery." It was renovated and completed in 1989. Inside the Hall’s archway is a stone monument erected in 1958 (Republic of China year 47) during the 823 artillery conflict, inscribed by then-Minister of National Defense Yu Da-wei with the words “Eternal Glory.” Generals who sacrificed their lives in the 823 artillery conflict, such as Ji Xingwen, Zhao Jiachang, and Zhang Jie, rest here. Lin Tuo Park features shaded walking paths for tourists to stroll. If you get tired, there are charming rest seats and natural stone benches for visitors to relax. The park’s grounds are covered with green grass, trees, and colorful flowers, making it a cool, relaxing spot—an excellent place for hiking and recreation. Within the park stands the “May 25” Air Disaster Memorial for those who perished in the 2002 (Republic of China year 91) crash of Cathay Pacific Flight 611, which crashed near Mazu Island in Penghu while en route from Taipei to Hong Kong, claiming the lives of passengers and crew. **Suggested Stay Duration:** 1.5 hours
