台中市外埔區甲后路三段1060號
The Outer Pu Branch Library stands on Section Three of Ji‑Hou Road. Its white main building features a staggered vertical division; a close view of the façade reveals a row of windows that is clean and sleek, earning it the nickname “Little White Palace.” It resembles a stack of well‑arranged books on a shelf, waiting for the public to admire and flip through. The exterior design of the Outer Pu Branch incorporates a staggered vertical segmentation that echoes the pastoral impression of Outer Pu. Large glass wall panels bring in expansive green scenery and distant views of Mount Huan‑Yan and Mount Tie‑Zhen, allowing visitors to fully experience the leisurely atmosphere of reading with the mountains as companions. On the first floor of the library, the senior‑citizen area is specially furnished with sofas, long reading tables, and appropriately sized bookshelves to create a living‑room vibe, making it comfortable and relaxed for older patrons to read. The children’s reading area uses clever design and color blocks to create a joyful reading space. Ascending the stairwell beside the book wall, the second and third floors feature minimalist wooden furniture paired with a floor‑to‑ceiling window overlooking the distant mountains. Here, reading and mountain viewing go hand in hand, and the joy of reading naturally arises. The text was provided with assistance from Taichung City Library.
