Fenkitud Lake Ring Trail System: Shanlin Trail - Lao Lao Street Branch, Wooden Horse Stack Road section is under construction and improvement. Please follow on-site instructions for detours.
The trail got its name from the numerous Blackheart Cedar and Taiwan Cedar planted along the route. It can be divided into two sections. One entrance is located beside the Land God Temple behind the second parking lot. The other entrance is in front of a residential house near the Zhonghe Police Station.
The two routes are connected by an industrial road near the south entrance of "Xia Jia Dian Zi Trail".
Starting from the Land God Temple, follow the wooden stack stairs beside the railway track and descend. After passing an intersection with an industrial road, enter a large cedar forest. The tall and straight cedar trees are magnificent. The ferns growing around the tree trunks at high places also strive for sunlight and a place in the dense forest.
Looking around, the diverse native plants and bushes under the forest also show unlimited vitality, emitting a wild atmosphere and releasing plant fragrance. The spacious wooden stack road and sitting railings are also a feature of the Shanlin Stack Road.
The subsequent fork in the road leads to another route to Xia Jia Dian Zi (Lao Lao Street) or back to Fenkitud Lake Old Street. Continuing forward, a elegant pavilion awaits the melodious singing of birds in the forest.
The "Tian Wai Fu Shi" (a legend that the Land God made the giant rock not roll down the mountain) is said to have been formed with the help of the Land God.
Going around the south end of Fu Hua Highway and entering the other section of Shanlin Stack Road, return to the cedar forest from the edge of the forest. Following the wooden stack road, arrive at the other exit.
