The north side of the trail has several nearby scenic spots, including Fenqihu Trail, Japan Shrine, Mènchai Kiln, Maple Valley Gorge, etc. Fenqihu Trail: Walking along the trail beside the Fenqihu Agricultural Products Exhibition Center and climbing up, you can reach the observation deck to enjoy the view of Fenqihu Village. You can also connect to the Gāozaǐkǎn Old Trail. Along the trail with a warm forest, you can enjoy the sound of bamboo forest and visit the early Japanese Shrine with a 3-meter square base platform, stone steps, stone walls, and other ruins. You can also visit the Mènchai Kiln, which is entirely made of stones. The trail is about 2000 meters long and is cool and pleasant in spring and summer.
Japan Shrine: Located in the northern forest of Fenqihu, it mainly worships Amaterasu. Now, only a 3-meter square base platform, stone steps, stone walls, and other ruins remain.
Mènchai Kiln: During the Japanese colonial era, there were about a dozen Mènchai Kilns near Fenqihu. The locals put miscellaneous wood into the kiln and burned it for about 20 days to make wood charcoal for early household use. The preserved kiln is mainly built with stones, about 5 pings of round kiln, with a surrounding wall about 1 meter high and a half-meter wide exit.
Maple Valley Gorge: Fenqihu has a scenic spot for admiring maple trees - Maple Valley Gorge. In addition to appreciating Taiwan's Acer formosum and Acer obovatum, you can also overlook the entire Fenqihu. Through Guanglun Mountain and Pilishan Mountain, you can look out at Dazongshan Mountain. On a clear day, you can even see the Jade Mountain peaks.
